Mission Coop Weekend
In case you missed it, last weekend was our annual Mission Coop where a visiting Priest preached at all the Masses. The thing about last weekend is that it brought the return of one of our former Priests, Fr. Marianand Mendem. Fr. Marianand talked about mission work in other countries, but also shared specifically about the work he has done in India. We’re excited that Fr. Marianand was able to join us last weekend. Below are three youtube links he has provided for all of us to view.
Fr. Marianand says, “These are about the Immaculate Heart School that was established in 2010 in CN Kota, India, with the help of my friends and supporters from Kansas. The seeds were sown for this great cause when I was at St. Agnes in 2005-2006 and it took roots and started bearing fruits when I went to Burlington, KS as pastor 2006-2015. In 2012 along with some of my friends on the Immaculate Heart foundation with me, we went for the inauguration of the Immaculate Heart school building and that is what we see on the video. Another video gives an idea of how the construction has taken place in different stages from the beginning. We started the school for 200 children but because of the need we have gone up to 650 children from K through 10th grade.”
Thank you and God bless you all.
